About TriAddX™
The origins of TriAddX™ go back to 2012, when the developer started tinkering with Microsoft Excel formulas to make simple office tasks easier for himself. After creating primitive calculators, his projects became increasingly complex and culminated in the development of the Credit for Time Served (CTS) Calculator in 2013.

The CTS Calculator became a successful freeware tool for a variety of agencies in various counties within the State of California, from probation departments to district attorney’s offices. It underwent multiple revisions throughout the years. Although never officially adopted by any organization, it is still being used by law enforcement agencies and law offices state-wide.
Soon, other useful tools followed, such as the Mandatory Supervision (MS) Time Tolled Calculator, the Age Calculator, and finally, in 2015, a first working version of a California Determinate Sentencing Calculator.

In 2022, the developer, who had become a trial attorney in 2020, saw a need to replace the hopelessly outdated and cumbersome use of sticky notes during jury selection with a reliable digital version that allows users to take almost unlimited notes and automatically keep track of the number of challenges exercised by each party. The Voir Dire jury selection program was born.

One year later, in 2023, the developer created a more accurate version of the California Sentencing Calculator. Its development was the most complex and comprehensive project to date. The finished product was dubbed TriAdd.
TriAdd uses the suffix X because all of its applications were created in Microsoft Excel.
Why Excel?
The developer chose to create TriAddX’s programs by using the Microsoft Excel platform. Why? Unlike programming an application in C#, C++, or other complicated language, Excel already provides the required scaffolding to meet the needs of TriAddX’s applications. This carries substantial benefits for the end-user. Excel files work on any system that supports and contains Excel. Their small file size allows them to be moved from one location to another with ease. They can be saved and stored anywhere. There is no need to install any additional programs, nor is an active internet connection required. Best of all, since most users are already familiar with the basics of Excel, there is no steep learning curve involved for using TriAddX’s applications.
